What's to come in 2024 at the surgery

We will be arranging more health days at the surgery for healthy topics such as diabetes, hypertension and other long term conditions. We welcome feedback in terms of what you as our patients would like to see, get involved with and other topics of conversation.

We encourage patients to join our patient participation group. For further information, please get in touch with the surgery and speak to Chevonne.

 

NHS App Update

Over the coming weeks, the NHS App is being redesigned to make it simpler for patients to find and access services. The home page will be updated, it will have a simpler structure and will be easier to understand.

The vision is to deliver a proactive, personalised experience. If you need help or support with the App, you can get in touch with the surgery or visit the NHS App website

Southwark Wellbeing Hub

The Southwark Wellbeing Hub provide information and supports anyone in Southwark who would like to improve their mental health and well-being. They can signpost to local services, and offer one-to-one support (offering 12 sessions of practical and emotional support), wellbeing workshops, peer support (given by volunteers), and drop-ins and pop-ups.

From the pharmacy team

If you are aged 40-70 years old, you may be eligible for a free NHS health check. This is a pre-emptive health check which gives you a snapshot of your health and assesses your risk of developing diabetes, a stroke, kidney and heart disease in the future.

You can call the surgery to book your appointment if you are within this age range.

Please remember to bring your medication with you to your appointment. If you have any queries, please get in touch or visit the NHS Health Check website.

 

Peckham soup kitchen

The Peckham Soup kitchen will open its doors on Christmas Day (25th December 2023) at Mercato Metropolitano, 42 Newington Causeway, Elephant and Castle, SE1 6DR from 12pm to 4pm.

Anyone in need of a warm meal and companionship is welcome.

 

Its flu season

As we want all of our patients to be protected against the flu including out vulnerable housebound patients, our practice nurse has been doing home visits. If you are housebound and would like to have you flu jab done, please get in touch with the surgery and we can add you to the nurses next clinic.

Closure over Christmas

Please be reminded that the surgery will be closed on Christmas Day (25th December 2023) and Boxing Day (26th December 2023). The surgery will also be closed on New Year's day (1st January 2024).
